Hussain Al Mahdi is the Technology Manager for the Middle East Region at ABS, based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He joined ABS in 2025 and leads the advancement of the organization’s regional technology strategy. Hussain oversees the development and deployment of innovative, data-driven solutions that strengthen safety, reliability, and operational performance for maritime and offshore clients. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Ireland, Cork , and brings more than a decade of experience delivering refinery upgrades, digital transformation programs, and R&D innovation across the oil, gas, and energy sectors. His expertise spans artificial intelligence, robotics, and scalable automation technologies to address industrial challenges. He supports the ABS Technology Center in Dammam, which opened in October 2025 as a hub for applied research and technology development in the Middle East.
