Abdulkarim AlAli is a seasoned geoscience professional with a bachelor’s
degree in petroleum Geology from United Arab Emirates University. He
currently serves as Manager–Geology, Exploration and Appraisal at Bapco
Upstream, where he leads multidisciplinary teams in advancing the company’s
exploration and appraisal objectives.
With a robust background as an Exploration Petrophysicist and Geologist at
Bapco, Abdulkarim has played a pivotal role in numerous onshore and offshore
projects. His expertise spans both conventional and unconventional reservoirs,
including significant contributions to the Khalij Al Bahrain offshore discovery
and the Pre-Unayzah gas project. He has also been instrumental in offshore
block promotional activities and has collaborated extensively with globally
recognized geo-consultants on high-level technical studies.
Abdulkarim is an active member of several leading professional organizations,
including the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the
Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA), and the European
Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE). He has authored multiple
technical papers, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of
petroleum geology and sharing knowledge with the wider geoscience
community.
