Hany Gamal, Ph.D., is a senior project engineer at Weatherford R&D Saudi Arabia, where he supports technology development for advanced R&D projects. He holds a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM). With over 15 years of oil field experience in drilling and workover operations, he specializes in developing innovative solutions and applying machine learning to tackle complex challenges in the oil and gas sector, driving operational excellence and cost optimization. Dr. Gamal has two awarded patents and authorship of over 90 peer-reviewed publications and a book chapter. His dedication to the scientific community is demonstrated through his role as a technical reviewer for six leading journals. He actively contributes to the industry’s advancement by serving on technical committees for prestigious events, including ADIPEC-2023, the SPE AI Symposium-2025, IGS-2025, GWCCC-2025, and MEOS-2025.
